But why?

Dear Vimeans, Zoomies and Googlers,

Over the past few months, we’ve compiled a database of leaked and public apology letters from the world’s top companies and most well-known CEOs. We recognize that this has caused deep concern and consternation within the tech industry, and we take full responsibility.

We understand that the use of standardized layoff letters is not in line with most companies’ values, and we deeply regret any negative impact this may have had on our industry peers. In an effort to prevent these sorts of letters from being sent out in the future, we want to assure you that we have mined them with AI to discover the most commonly used stock phrases and cliches.

Moving forward, we will be implementing a rigorous review process for all communications to ensure that they are crafted with the utmost sensitivity and consideration for the richest companies in the world. We will also be providing additional training and resources to our management team to improve their ability to build websites before the Washington Post publishes exhaustive research on the same subject.

Our hope is that this project increases transparency, empathy, and fairness throughout the industry. As we move forward, we will do our best to remember the time you wasted perusing this website.

If you would like to reach out with more letters for us to publish on this platform, please don’t hesitate. #OurDoorIsAlwaysOpen
